1. Brokerage digital contract notes. We currently support Anagram Securities, IL&FS, Kotak, Lalkar, MF Global, Motilal Oswal, Reliance and many others. If your broker is not listed please let us know and we’ll add them.

2. CAMS/KARVY mutual fund files. We support Karvy 201/221, CAMS WBR2 and CAMS personal files.

3. Predefined Excel formats – Using the templates provided you can import your stock and mutual fund transactions. Stock template | MF template

4. Online portals. We currently support Value Research Online and NJ Fundz. This allows you to keep a backup of your financial data on your computer and also aggregate all your financial data.

How Do I Get The Update?

From the main menu select Help -> Check for Updates. You will need to restart MProfit to proceed with the update.

Their latest issue, features MProfit as one of the tools investors can use to manage their portfolio. At MProfit it’s not just about using our software but also about building a community of investors who have similar goals and providing useful information to our customers.

Currently, there are basic 4 categories of tools available to investors:

1. Watchlists – these are available on many websites and just track your stock and mutual fund holdings on a daily basis. Your financial data resides on an internet server.

2. Expense tracker – these websites help you manage your monthly expenses such as EMI, food, clothing, etc. Your financial data resides on an internet server.

3. Brokers trading platform – allows you to trade through your broker and keep track of your investments, but this requires you to always use the same broker. Some provide this online and some provide a desktop application.

4. Portfolio Manager – There are several online portfolio managers and several desktop applications. (MProfit fits here)

As part of our continuous effort to improve MProfit we have added several new features based on customer feedback to MProfit v4.1. The two big features that were most requested have been added, a tax calculator and an automated backup feature. The feature list is below:

• Tax calculator
• Weekly/Monthly backup
• Improved help file
• Improved report layouts

The tax calculator allows you to estimate your taxes BEFORE selling a stock or mutual fund. It provides intraday, short-term and long-term tax calculations.

We have also added a weekly/monthly backup feature. MProfit will prompt you on a weekly or monthly basis (based on your settings) to backup your data to either a local hard drive, an external hard drive or a USB pen drive. This will allow you to always have a backup copy of your data in case of an emergency.

Lastly, this version fixes some minor bugs.

How Do I Get The Update?
Just restart MProfit and you will be prompted about the availability of v4.1. You will need to accept and install the update to enjoy the latest features of MProfit.

During this 30 days trial period, you will be able to purchase MProfit 1 Year Subscription Plan. The purchase details (Online payment as well as payment through Cheque/DD) will be provided before the end of next week. Once you make the payment, the Activation Key will be sent to you by an email. Under Help menu, you will notice the option to activate the license. You need to insert this Activation Key and click the button ‘Activate License’. The software will be activated for 365 days.

The previous pre-release version users will get the message about the availability of the new version 3.0. You need to accept and allow the installation to enjoy the full benefits of MProfit. When you accept it, it will be downloaded and installed on your desktop. Please make sure that you have the internet connectivity during this process.

We have finalised the pricing of MProfit and have also extended the validity of the free pre-release version up to 31-Aug-2009. Users of previous versions will receive the new automatic update for the availability of version 2.43. The commercial launch will be announced in next few weeks.

MProfit is a Desktop Portfolio Management Software for Indian Investors. It is also useful for Non Resident Indians. It is extremely easy to use and you can jump start using and managing your portfolios by going through ‘Getting Started’ section in User Manual. This is not a web based solution. We believe that most of the individuals would not like to store their personal financial data on web portals due to data theft and online security issues. MProfit stores your personal portfolios data on your PC. MProfit manages individual portfolio and family (group) portfolios and tracks the net worth of individual and group portfolios with the updated prices of stocks and MF.

MProfit has many more features and reports which are useful for Indian Investors. It provides Long term and Short term capital gain reports. It handles various corporate actions like Bonus, Split, Merger and De-merger. Capital gain reports are adjusted based on these actions as per the income tax rules. Apart from capital gains reports, you will explore many more features and reports while using MProfit.

One of the main features of MProfit is a Group portfolio. You can create multiple groups within your family. You can explore some of the interesting report like Asset Allocation, which will give you information about how your family wealth is diversified.

The closing values of BSE stocks and Mutual Fund NAVs are updated automatically through internet from our server when you start the application.
