At MProfit we started 2012 with a bang, with the launch of latest version of MProfit Investor (v9.0). But in even bigger news is we launched our second product MProfit Advisor. MProfit Advisor was designed for companies, family offices, HNIs, CFPs, independent financial advisors (IFAs), insurance advisors, investment advisors and sub-brokers.

What’s new in MProfit Investor v9.0?
We have rebuilt MProfit Investor (download) to take advantage of the many new features we have planned for 2012 such as the ability to sync your data with advisors. In addition, you will be able to view your data on tablets and mobile phones (Android, iOS, Windows).

Some of the features you will notice right away:

• Bigger font size of the summary screen
• Many more import options have been added
• Capital gains report with or without indexation for debt mutual funds and FMPs

MProfit Advisor commercially available

Since the launch of our first product MProfit Investor we were receiving many requests from financial advisors, HNIs and family offices.  In 2011, we decided it was time to start working on a new product based on the feedback and what you see today in MProfit Advisor (download) is a result of  it.

MProfit Advisor we designed to be easy to use and cost effective. MProfit Advisor allows you to manage 100′s of portfolios, put your logo on reports, generate overall AUM reports and many other features. In the near future, advisors will be able to share data with their clients in an easy and secure manner.  At MProfit, 2012 is the year we plan to make managing money a very simple task.

1. Updated XIRR Report: Income column now includes only Income received as Pay-out. All dividend reinvestment and cumulative income are added in Current Value.

2. Import – We have added many more brokers to allow importing of contract notes from Antique, Concept Securities, Dalal & Broacha, Dani Shares, GEPL Capital, Integrated Master Securities, Pragya Securities, RK Global, Skyes & Ray Equities and many more. We have also updated many of the import options as well. (click for a current list of brokers)

How Do I Get The Update?

From the main menu select Help -> Check for Updates. You will need to restart MProfit to proceed with the update.

Please make sure that you have internet connectivity during this process and that your anti-virus software and/or firewall is not blocking the download.

The latest version 5.4 is available now!  Below are 4 highlights of this release:

1. As the financial year of 2010-11 has been closed, we have improved the Capital Gain Summary Report based on requests from many users. The report now includes period-wise capital gains as required when filing your tax return. The period includes 1st Apr to 15th Sep, 16th Sep to 15th Dec, 16th Dec to 15th March and 16th March to 31st March. This will be useful in determining your advance tax payment for the new financial year as well.

2. New ULIP/Insurance Summary report for individual portfolios, this report was previously available for groups.

3. A minor bug related to display of accrued interest in FD (Payout).

4. Import – We have added several more brokers to allow importing of contract notes from ASE Capital Markets, FundsIndia.com, MTL Shares & Stockbrokers, R. Wadiwala Securities, Saurashtra Capital, Span Caplease and Sunshine Broking. We have also updated many of the import options as well. (click for a current list of brokers)

How Do I Get The Update?

Their latest issue, features MProfit as one of the tools investors can use to manage their portfolio. At MProfit it’s not just about using our software but also about building a community of investors who have similar goals and providing useful information to our customers.

Currently, there are basic 4 categories of tools available to investors:

1. Watchlists – these are available on many websites and just track your stock and mutual fund holdings on a daily basis. Your financial data resides on an internet server.

2. Expense tracker – these websites help you manage your monthly expenses such as EMI, food, clothing, etc. Your financial data resides on an internet server.

3. Brokers trading platform – allows you to trade through your broker and keep track of your investments, but this requires you to always use the same broker. Some provide this online and some provide a desktop application.

4. Portfolio Manager – There are several online portfolio managers and several desktop applications. (MProfit fits here)

As part of our continuous effort to improve MProfit we have added several new features based on customer feedback to MProfit v4.1. The two big features that were most requested have been added, a tax calculator and an automated backup feature. The feature list is below:

• Tax calculator
• Weekly/Monthly backup
• Improved help file
• Improved report layouts

The tax calculator allows you to estimate your taxes BEFORE selling a stock or mutual fund. It provides intraday, short-term and long-term tax calculations.

We have also added a weekly/monthly backup feature. MProfit will prompt you on a weekly or monthly basis (based on your settings) to backup your data to either a local hard drive, an external hard drive or a USB pen drive. This will allow you to always have a backup copy of your data in case of an emergency.

Lastly, this version fixes some minor bugs.

How Do I Get The Update?
Just restart MProfit and you will be prompted about the availability of v4.1. You will need to accept and install the update to enjoy the latest features of MProfit.

When you accept, the update will be downloaded and installed on your desktop. Please make sure that you have internet connectivity during this process and that your antivirus software and/or firewall is not blocking the download to allow the installation of the MProfit update.

• Right click menu for Edit/Delete in the transaction list
• Change period button on top of the transaction list

During this 30 days trial period, you will be able to purchase MProfit 1 Year Subscription Plan. The purchase details (Online payment as well as payment through Cheque/DD) will be provided before the end of next week. Once you make the payment, the Activation Key will be sent to you by an email. Under Help menu, you will notice the option to activate the license. You need to insert this Activation Key and click the button ‘Activate License’. The software will be activated for 365 days.

The previous pre-release version users will get the message about the availability of the new version 3.0. You need to accept and allow the installation to enjoy the full benefits of MProfit. When you accept it, it will be downloaded and installed on your desktop. Please make sure that you have the internet connectivity during this process.

We have finalised the pricing of MProfit and have also extended the validity of the free pre-release version up to 31-Aug-2009. Users of previous versions will receive the new automatic update for the availability of version 2.43. The commercial launch will be announced in next few weeks.

As promised, we have decided to offer MProfit at a very attractive price. We have evaluated various pricing models and have also done our own survey.
